Reviewing The New Superdrug Optimum Peptide Skincare range by Superdrug
Let me just start of by saying I was given this three set bundle to test and review by Superdrug for an honest opinion as part of the Superdrug Customer Community.
The affordable three step daily routine for every beauty enthusiast.
Lets Start of with the Optimum Peptide Day Cream
My first thoughts on the appearance based on the packaging was
that it looked like a premium skincare brand. I liked the embossed
branding and it made the product stand out.
π The cream comes in a very durable 50ml glass jar and a green plastic, slightly shiny twist-able lid.
π
It is fragrance-free and the texture is very smooth and silky, I would
describe it as a little thicker than a lotion. It has a slight yellow
tint to it which makes it different from the night cream so there is no
confusion. π
π In the first use of the day cream, I instantly
saw a difference in the appearance of my skin texture. It felt so much
more smoother and softer. The softness lasted all day and I could still
feel the smoothness after washing and cleansing my skin. π₯°
π I
did notice however that the cream left a white pasty residue a few
times. I think it was because I used too much product. It also seems to
leave the same residue around the rim of the jar. I found that when I
used less product, there was hardly any residue.
π The product claims that your skin should instantly feel hydrated, plumped and protected because of the SPF50 element. After 2 weeks, the skin should feel smoother and softer. And, after 4 weeks fine lines and wrinkles should be minimized.
π After 2 weeks of use, my honest opinion is that my skin feels smoother and softer. However, I think the added SPF50 increased oil production and found my skin became oily throughout the day. I would have preferred it without the extra SPF50.
π After 4 weeks of use, my skin texture had improved significantly. It
has appeared a lot more smooth and softer.π I
noticed softer, smoother and more supple skin. I don't have a lot of
fine lines or wrinkles so it's hard to say if this product has made any
difference in that sense.
π Recommended if you don't have oily skin π
Superdrug's Optimum Peptide Night Cream
The cream claims to plump skin, and make skin feel smoother, firmer and more radiant while reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation.
π The cream comes in a durable 50ml glass jar, making it feel like a good quality premium product. The cream has :
π Peptide - which reduces and smooths fine lines, wrinkles and improves skin elasticity and firmness.
π Fruit Extracts - which stimulates skin cell renewal, improving skin tone and texture. π
π Vitamin C - which brightens and evens skin complexion. π
π The cream is very smooth in texture and glides smoothly onto the skin. A little of this cream goes a long way so it will last a long time.
π As with the Optimum Peptide Day Cream, the results are instant. I saw a huge improvement in the texture of my skin on first use.
π The added vitamin C and Fruit extract to this night cream is a bonus because these ingredients go to work while asleep and you wake up with beautiful skin.
π I used the night cream in conjunction with the Optimum Peptide Serum at night for four weeks and I noticed a difference in my skin appearance and texture but not sure if I have used it long enough to notice a reduction of blemishes.
π I would recommend using the night cream with the serum for faster results. This skin cream didn't make me produce any excess oil and I would recommend it if you have oily skin. π₯°
Optimum Peptide Serum
π The serum comes in a 40ml soft plastic tube and has an application nozzle not bigger than 5mm. This means you can apply the serum directly onto your face without any waste and rub it in with your fingertips, face roller or Gua Sha.
π The serum comes out as a light, cloudy, gooey liquid but absorbs very quickly without feeling oily or sticky and without any residue.
π The main ingredients are:
π§ͺ Peptide - improves skin elasticity
π§ͺ Vitamin C - brightens and evens skin complexion
π§ͺ Hyaluronic acid - helps maintain moisture in skin
π This serum is a fabulous base to use either with the Optimum Peptide day cream or night cream. It is a very light serum so it doesn't feel heavy or weighed down when applying other products.
π Like with the other products from this range, the results are instant. Skin feels softer and smoother immediately.
π It suggests using the serum daily, morning and evening with other products from the range and I recommend doing this for faster results.
π After four weeks of use, my skin feels more smooth, less textured and a lot softer. I haven't noticed any improvement in my blemishes yet but I will continue to use it.
